Issue #1 — August 2026
The stack is becoming something you rent.
Three launches this month rented what they could not build: Rcube took a MiCA licence and now sells emerging managers an operational and regulatory wrapper, and Formatnull put an HFT strategy inside CV5’s Cayman umbrella rather than standing up its own. The infrastructure entries are the same trade seen from the supply side — Binance selling the connectivity layer, Orbs selling execution, Ripple financing the prime layer with rated debt. Renting the stack used to read as a launch-phase compromise. There is now an industry on the other side of the trade, borrowing at investment grade, betting that it is permanent.
One note on method. We set out to mark the dead allocator programs and could not: closures are never announced, the page simply leaves the sitemap. Two Prime is listed as unclear rather than closed, because that is all the public record supports.
Launches
New funds, new vehicles, and new strategy lines at existing shops.
-
Rcube Asset Management
Authorized Jun 2026- What
- Received AMF authorization to provide crypto-asset services under MiCA — licence N2026-007, effective 18 June 2026, covering advice and portfolio management. Rcube's own pitch to emerging managers is "a full set of operational, regulatory and marketing solutions".
- Signal
- A licensed wrapper a strategy team can launch inside rather than build. The regulatory layer is being sold as a product.

CV5 Capital × Formatnull Formatnull Digital Asset Fund SP
Announced Mar 2026- What
- Formatnull, which describes itself as a crypto HFT operation, launched its fund as a segregated portfolio on CV5 Digital SPC — a multi-manager umbrella regulated by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.
- Signal
- The trading team brought the strategy; the platform supplied the regulated vehicle. Same trade as Rcube, one layer up the stack.
-
Finality Capital Partners Finality Credit Opportunities Fund LP
Filed Mar 2026- What
- A new Delaware pooled investment vehicle, filed alongside the group's existing Fund I, Fund II and Liquid Opportunities vehicles.
- Who
- Kamal Mokeddem, David Grider, Adam Winnick
- Signal
- A credit line opened next to a liquid book is a fresh operational decision regardless of how old the firm is.

Infrastructure
The stack, sold in layers — who's productizing what new desks used to have to build, and what each move signals about where the build-vs-rent line is drifting.
-
Binance — OMS Toolkit
Announced May 2026- What
- An institutional exchange solution for OMS/OEMS and trading-technology providers routing client flow into Binance: streamlined API integration, exchange-level analytics on end-client activity, self-service account segmentation, spot and futures access.
- Signal
- The venue now sells the connectivity layer itself. When the exchange packages OMS integration as a product, the build-vs-buy line is being drawn by the venue — one layer into your stack.

Orbs — Orbs Institutional
Announced Jun 2026- What
- Direct institutional access to on-chain execution infrastructure previously embedded in DEX frontends: RFQ-based liquidity aggregation (Liquidity Hub) plus dTWAP and dLIMIT execution, offered via API or white-label. Claims more than $2.5B in spot volume since 2023 across 30+ DEX integrations.
- Signal
- On-chain execution unbundled and sold as a layer — to desks, custodians and platforms that would rather integrate it than build it. The same trade as the launches above, seen from the supply side.

Ripple Prime
Closed Aug 2026- What
- Closed an upsized $275M private placement of senior unsecured notes — rated BBB, investment grade, by KBRA — to fund working capital for its multi-asset clearing, prime brokerage and financing business. Piper Sandler led the placement.
- Signal
- A crypto prime broker borrowing at an investment-grade rating. The intermediation layer new desks rent is now financed like a balance-sheet business — the strongest sign yet that renting the stack is a market, not a launch-phase workaround.

Allocator programs open to external teams
These programs are perishable and they rarely announce it. Where we could not establish from a primary source that a program is still running, it stays listed and marked rather than quietly dropped.
-
Fasanara Open Quant
Open- What
- Allocates to internal and external portfolio managers across statistical arbitrage, relative value, option structure and directional strategies. Submissions go to an address on the program page.
- Bar
- Qualitative only — "capacity-constrained, early-stage talented portfolio managers". No numeric threshold published.
- Signal
- Note the name: this is Open Quant, run at the Fasanara Capital level, not a digital-assets-only vehicle.
-
Lighthouse Collective Capital — Diversified Quant
Open- What
- Allocates to 12–20 internal and external systematic managers across directional, market-neutral and delta-neutral strategies, offering centralised risk, prime brokerage access and infrastructure alongside the capital.
- Bar
- Demonstrated P&L attribution, a well-defined strategy mandate, non-overlapping exposures, stress-tested risk and drawdown protocols. No numeric threshold published.
- Signal
- Verify the entity before engaging. The site names no principals, no domicile and no regulator, and the brand collides with several unrelated firms.
-
Annamite Capital — separate-account platform
Structure live- What
- Runs roughly 15 strategies through separate accounts, spanning low- to high-frequency, market-making and CeFi/DeFi arbitrage. Principals named: Tom Geary (ex-Citadel, UBS) and Lucas Gaylord.
- Ticket
- Not stated. Launched on roughly $7M of proprietary capital, with about $4M put into technology.
- Signal
- Named principals put this ahead of most entries here on verifiability. Neither release says whether new external teams are currently being taken on.

Undisclosed allocator — SMA / capital allocation for crypto quant teams
Listed Mar 2026- What
- Posted through a recruiting agency across five Asian markets, on behalf of an allocator it does not name.
- Ticket
- Not disclosed. Described as "significant capital allocation via SMA or fund structure", performance-aligned.
- Signal
- A capital-allocation solicitation in a job listing's clothes. The channel is real; you cannot see who is on the other end of it before you apply.

Two Prime — Emerging Managers
Status unclear Last seen Jul 2025- What
- An Emerging Managers page existed on Two Prime's site in July 2025. It is now absent from the sitemap, the URL returns an empty shell, and the firm's current public business is bitcoin lending and investing. No closure was announced.
- Signal
- Listed as unclear rather than closed. A page going quiet is not the same as a program ending, and this is the entire public record either way.
